In 2019 the 33 JordynStrong Foundation hosted the first Annual Black & White Gala at the Historic Onesto Hotel in Canton, OH. The inaugural event raised over $61,000 for the Foundation and as intended became the Marque Event for the Foundation. With a hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, the Foundation was able to get to work to rebrand this key fundraising event to the Blackbird Ball, gaining its new moniker from the 1968 Beatles song “Blackbird”. The Beatles are notably one of Jordyn’s Top 3 favorite bands and “Blackbird” was listed in her “Fab Four” - if you are an XM subscriber and listen to the Beatles Channel, you know just what this means.
While the 2019 edition of the event was highly successful, the 33 JordynStrong Foundation determined that in order to keep up with a changing social environment during the pandemic, the event would need to transform as well. The search was on for the perfect venue that allowed for us to reinstate this critical fundraising event into our calendar as well as to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our guest to gather together in-person. Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium proved to be the perfect location on their 8th floor, outdoor Skytop Terrace allowing guests to truly experience this one-of-a-kind venue and help us to celebrate all the Foundation has been able to accomplish over the last few years and to once again gather together to remember the too short life of Jordyn Myers. It was a remarkable evening. In 2022, we celebrated together at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, OH. It was our most successful event yet, financially speaking, and we had a wonderful night with all attendees.
Continuing into our 4th year, we head to R.Shea Brewing in Akron, OH to gather together once again to celebrate the Foundation and work toward providing a better future for teens in Northeast Ohio facing cancer, as well as remembering Jordyn at a time where she should be starting her senior year of high school. We hope you will join us, we promise you won't want to miss it - we always have something new and exciting up our sleeves.
Join us at R.Shea Brewing Co. in Downtown Akron, OH (Canal Place) for the 4th Annual Blackbird Ball. We will have food, drinks, music for dancing, activities including raffles and a live auction, as well as a celebration of the work of the 33 JordynStrong Foundation. This event is a primary fundraising event for the 33 JordynStrong Foundation and helps support our Scholarship Program as well as our program, Track 33, and family support for teens facing cancer.
This year we are adding a VERY EXCITING theme - '80s Prom (think Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer in Footloose or Andy and Ducky a la Pretty in Pink). Dressing to the theme is optional however we encourage you to play along. We will have prizes for a variety of things related to the theme as well. Prepare to step back in time for a great night to celebrate a great cause and to support the Foundation's Track:33 Program as well as our Scholarship program for the Class of 2024. It's going to be a CAN'T MISS event and we look forward to seeing you there.
Individual/Couple tickets as well as Group tickets (8) and new VIP tickets will include access to the event as well as food and drinks throughout the event.
The Foundation is seeking Sponsors for this event being held on November 4, 2023. Donations are also being accepted from local businesses for our Basket Raffles. If you are interested in more information about one or both of these opportunities, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
